New England Forest Rally 2012 -Volunteers Needed

Hi everyone, we are a little over two months away from the NEFR 2012!
But as always, we NEED volunteers.

As you know, July is fast approaching and we will need people like YOU to help out with the rally. If we didn't have volunteers, we don't have a rally. Please go to http://www.newenglandforestrally.com/workers/ and sign up. In return you will get access to areas the general public will not, great rally swag and knowing you helped make the rally a success!
If you are new or not sure about what you want to do, feel free to ask any questions and I’m sure we can get you answers.

A huge Thank you to everyone that helps out every year.

Brighton is right, volunteering is great! You get to see the action as well as help out the sport. As a spectator safety marshal/stage captain for the past few years I can vouch for the pleasure you get from knowing you are helping to make an event happen. The competitors know that if you aren't there, they wouldn't be either. Its a really great feeling when they show it and thank you for spending your weekend in the woods fighting off bugs and getting covered in rally dust.

Plus you will get to mix and mingle with teams and other volunteers after the events at the after parties.

Grab some friends and have them volunteer too, they will be hooked. Many of my friends turned into rally fans after they came with me to help out at NEFR.

I won't be able to volunteer this year (first time in 5 years) as I will be on stage competing in my first NEFR!

I'll jump the gun and say thanks to everyone who is going volunteer their time, it's much appreciated!

Official message....The NEFR organizers are committed to making the 2012 event the best event possible for both the competitors and the workers alike. In addition to the famous shirts the workers receive this year they'll also have a chance to win many great prizes. ie, there's talk of a raffle with prizes to the workers. Make sure you sign up early as many of these prizes will be awarded before the rally so walk-ins won't be eligible.

Inside scoop....there are some awesome prizes being worked on, trust me. I can't spill the beans yet, but they are worth working for.

"I know this is like preaching to the choir, and we've probably already pestered most of you about this, but the New England Forest Rally is only a couple of weeks away (July 13-14) and with new stages and new configurations of old stages this year, we’re going to need all the volunteers we can get to make sure everything runs smoothly. Unfortunately I’m finding that a lot of the experienced workers we’ve relied on the past few years aren’t able to make it this year, so we’re in need of your help.

As you know, you can’t put on a rally without volunteers, and I’ve been at rallies before where stages have been canceled due to a lack of workers. In addition too all the other goodies you normally get when you volunteer, this year there will be a Worker Thank You Raffle during the Saturday slopeside awards ceremony.

If you’re able to/interested in volunteering this year , even if it's just for one day, go to the sign-up page (http://www.newenglandforestrally.com.../sign-up-form/) and sign up AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This went out to the New England Region (of SCCA) RallyX list. We need all the help we can get! If you are interested in eventually Stage Rallying for yourself this is one of the best ways to get involved. You meet, organizers, team, crews, etc. I start going to NEFR as a child to spectate, have volunteered for the past handful of years, and will now be competing... BUT ONLY IF WE HAVE ENOUGH WORKERS TO PUT ON THIS GREAT EVENT! PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!

I can thankfully say that we had some new radio ops at STPR this year; some were new to radio and rally, and some were new to STPR. We actually ended up with more radio-ops than the previous two years, so hopefully that bodes well for NEFR.
A couple of us are trying to drum up some workers from the Mid-Atlantic area of DI. I know of two radio ops (me and Lichtwald) coming, and I'll have two more non-radio volunteers. It's not much, but at least you know there are some other possibilities.
