MAP intakes are available with a week or two lead time. We haven't really formally announced their overall availability since we have not fit the MAF based cars yet. If you are interested in a MAP intake, please send me a PM, I think we have three in stock.

It has been several months since we introduced you to the Gorilla Top Mounted Cold Air Intake. We've posted our initial driver impressions and have responded to all your feedback - mainly asking when a MAF version will be available, how/if it performs in the rain, i.e. hydro-lock, and what are the true benefits of choosing this product - performance gains.

Tonight I would like to finally make our test results publicly available. We have 1/4 mile times and dyno numbers posted below. Through a sponsorship arrangement with Alex Rademacher our Gorilla Products are running in his rally car all season long. This includes a 1st in class and 3rd overall podium finish in the first rally this year - High Desert Trails. We look forward to being part of the continued success and hope for another win this weekend when Alex and co-driver Jeana attack the North Nevada Rally July 6 & 7. Without further ado, here are the results:

So, that means the Gorilla Intake yields 12hp more that the stock intake system. It went from 113hp and 137tq (max) to 125hp and 142tq. Here are the drag times:

Stock Intake
16.375 with a 80.5 mph trap speed .199 reaction

Gorilla Intake
16.178 with a 83.2 mph trap speed .765 reaction
(miss shift into 3rd gear)

I look forward to your feedback ...

Also I'd like to point out It was Snowing and raining at Idaho Rally (Wipers on), with some large large puddles (not quite water crossings) I had no issues with hydro lock at all.

I've also driven through some heavy rain on the highway with out any issues.

@ Idaho I unfortuantely slid off the road into a large rock . Air intake and my mud flaps were both perfectly fine. (my tire, alignment, and stage times on the other hand did not fair so well)

Also the Air intake makes the motor sound AWESOME there's a very very noticable difference around 2500 and from there to read line its ear candy.. it makes it a little louder, but Meaner, it just sounds really mean is the best way to describe it.

We have the original prototype and one gently used one that someone is looking at tomorrow night.

Our next production run is scheduled for August, when we plan to overlap the development of the MAF intake. We've been holding back on marketing the intake until we got the dyno results (posted above) and after we have the MAF version built - didn't want to offer a product without being able to reach the entire target audience.

Anyway, if the gently used intake is available tomorrow, I'll let you know if you are interested.

BTW I was able set faster stage times @ NNR this past year (2012) than i did on the previous year (2011) using the Gorilla Cold Air Intake. I'm a map , RS, using the Map based Intake.

Stage 4 i was slower due to hitting a rock at the end of stage 3, which caused 1 of my struts to slid to max neg camber (-4)
I went off on stage 12 (Driver error) :( by the time sweep got to me i was time barred. I drove the last 2 stages very slowly , just trying to drive all of the stages to get some CRS points.

Is the inability to hold in your excitement for the product, or your account got hacked?
