Hello all. I am in the process of lifting my 02 wrx on 04 fxt suspension (sorry, unrelated to question...just a little info). For quite some time I have been looking for a STi trans to swap in. Now, with the much larger tires I am putting on, I though it would be a good idea to change my final drive to help with the added stress. I started looking for a forester trans. I've found a few FXT transmissions that are at a really good price. I'd pick up the trans, drive shaft, rear diff, and all 4 axles. Here's my question. Will the FXT's axles work with my wrx's hubs? The current trans I'm looking at is an 06 FXT.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I would compare them and if they are different bring them to a shop that will make you some custom axles by combining the two together for proper fit.

As far as the hub is concerned, all 5x100 axles are the same, ie everything except sti 05-07 is interchangeable. That being said, some of the 5 speeds have different inner cv cups, ie male and female. So you can use the fxt axles with the fxt trans and your hubs no problem, but I'm not sure that you can use your WRX axles because of the male/female thing on the trans side.

05 lgt knuckles are different splines even though it's 5x100. I have custom front axles because of this.
