Interesting?.?.
What does a fun day consist of? Anyone going to that?
My wife and i will be vacationing from Texas (no ice racing) from the 27th-31st. We'll be in Winter Park until the 30th, then going to Denver for the night. Maybe i can convince her to drive up 70 a bit on the way back to check it out if the fun day is worth it.

I will do that and hope to see some of you there. If not, should be fun to see since i've never seen it before. Rental car ice driving!

As long as it's 4WD or AWD then absolutely bring it out on the ice. Fun days are always an eclectic mix of old vs new with some on studs, some on bare rubber and some even on cheaters. I'll try and put one of the videos up from last season to really try to entice you!

4runners are rather popular especially in the Street Stock division. Roll overs have happened but it's been quite a while, they are most likely in Competition division on "cheater" tires.

Dress warm and it will most likely be one of the funnest days you've ever had going slow in a vehicle.

For what it's worth, the likelihood of anything happening to you or your car is minimal.

From what I've heard the only time someone has fallen through was when they went too close to an edge that they weren't supposed to. As mentioned before, you probably aren't going to come anywhere near to rolling (unless you have giant studs poking out of your tires... then maybe). You aren't going to come into contact with any other cars while racing.

Basically, follow the rules and you will be fine... and you will have a blast!

7 more days!

Just a few reminders:
All studded tires require a helmet for driver and passenger(s).
Cost is $5.00 regardless of class or tires.
Tech will be open from 9am until 12noon and again from 3pm until 4pm(ish), tech fees are $5 for Street Stock and $10 for Prostreet.
Dress warm, wear layers.
Be respectful of your fellow racers.
Stay safe and have FUN!

My wife and I will be there with our blue bugeye wagon, feel free to find us if you have any questions, or if you would like a ride in the Ice Cube.

Ice Cubed is the nickname my coworker had for my wagon. 300+ HP, 300+ tq, 3rd engine, 3rd turbo.

We can discuss potential (1/2 throttle) codrives at the lake.
