I was only getting about 23 mpg when I had a 1.8L... probably because it required a lead foot to even keep up with traffic.
Swapped to a 2.5L (with moderate exhaust and fuel mods) and started averaging around 25 mpg (city or highway) ...Then I put on taller tires, and (after accounting for the increased gearing) it gets 26 city 29 highway mpg. You probably don't need me to tell you how poor the factory gearing is for highway driving. I have exceeded 30 city mpg by driving super conservatively, but that's not the norm. |

I get in the upper 20's and can even get in the very low 30's. It's surprising that a 2.5 liter AWD drive sedan with 160+ hp can get better fuel economy than any 1st or 2nd gen Miata that I've had or driven.

Just recently did 30 MPG im my stage 2 WRX with General grabbers. I kept it to 68 mph on the highway and did 340 miles before the gas light came on! Its amazing the increase I got from doing 73 mph down to 68.

I have averaged 24.7 mpg in my '06 WRX since I bought it last April. Mixed city/highway driving. Best I ever got was 34.17, worst was 16.58
I got ~15mpg in my '91 Legacy SS on it's most recent tank...

I have gotten 30 mpg when my car was fwd + 1.8
for the longest time i was getting 20 mph (tops) after my RS 2.5 swap but i had a bad knock sensor + rear O2 for a while. finally fixed the knock sensor and i just got 26 mpg driving down to Ridgecrest. think it dipped down to 22 ish on the tank that i rally crossed on, and did the first half of the drive (lots of up hill) keeping 75 on steep uphills wasn't good on the tank. i need to fill her back up, but i think the last tank i got around 30 . did 230 miles so far on what looks to be about 7-8 gallons of gas. oh what size gas tank should an RS 2.5 have? mine seems to be a 12 gallon tank (from a 95 awd)

Im rocking a fairly stock 2k10 2.5i EAT. about a 2" lift with springs and 215-65-16 tires. i weigh about 3200L,B man seeking woman =-)
While my combined average is ~ 21-21 MPG over the course of a tank i drive hard and ~80mph on the highway. using my on-board MPG computer (i know its not supper accurate with the 65 tires) i was getting 25MPG at 75-80MPH and when i dropped down to 65-70MOH i was getting about 30-32MPG

I used to get low 30's on the highway stock, and could get down to 14 or so womping on it. Since going stage 2 I've always averaged around 24 no matter how hard or nice I drive. (always just used #mi driven / gallons to fill up, so these are tank averages)
Lately it's been consistently on the low side of that and dropping (like it's block), but I just found a sticking slider bolt on the brakes along with a diagonally worn brake pad - now lubed up and ungunked, so I'm hoping to shoot back to the 24+ range Jake, you're back in a subie? The sexy white wagon's gone, right? thought I saw an audi now?

I use the Lucas oil injector cleaner in every tank and can tell by the mpg when I don't use it. I usually get between 20-23 but that was with some mixed up vacuum lines. Hoping since I fixed that problem and don't have anymore cel's it will go up.
