For all of you guys out there that are into rallycross (yes and even autox) you should consider getting a CG-Lock. This device is an inexpensive way to secure yourself firmly in your seat so that you can focus more on car control rather than keeping yourself stable. Before I had racing harnesses I used this device for rallycross and autox. The stock seat belts are designed mostly for comfort when driving, but I needed to have my butt held in my seat. I'm not a very big guy either so i would slide around in our wider USDM seats. Its really nice to be able to just remove it when you're done at the track too, so you're not messing with two sets of belts in the car, etc.
Boring CG lock picture ![]() Less boring CG lock picture ![]() Installation is a piece of cake too, you can watch a video review that was made last year by our sister website HSPNTV featuring my friend Ben. Click here to watch the CG-Lock Install and Review Video! Costing just a fraction of the price of a typical racing harness its a great deal. CG-Lock is offering $5.00 off on a CG-lock when you use the promo code DirtyImpreza (DirtyImpreza is one word) during checkout from their online store. DI will also get a commission on the sale too, so think of it as investing in mod that will help lower your lap times, and also donating back to DI! Order a CG-Lock Here! I have two demonstration units for use (at California events only) so the next time you see me at a rallycross ask to borrow one and see for yourself how well they work! If you have any questions, post up or drop me a PM! This is a great opportunity for DI members, i hope some of you out there can take advantage of this. :-)

OK, now where exactly did that second CG-Lock picture come from? If I order another CG-Lock, is she included in the package?
I've had a CG-Lock for a year or so now. It didn't do what I expected it to (help me deal with lateral G's) but it DOES make it MUCH MUCH easier to stay behind the steering wheel over bumps and when quickly slinging the car side-to-side. It's WELL worth the price. |

sorry, I don't think I could get that. My girlfriend wouldn't be happy about me having a mini-skirt wearing blonde in my passenger seat.

I just want to know what woman wears that incredibly short of a skirt to go riding in a car under conditions calling for extra restraint!

If she's wearing that little for a CG lock, I wonder what she wears (or doesn't wear) for a full 5-Point FIA harness?

well done aaron! glad you were able to make this happen.
these are well worth the money if you don't have a harness. i keep mine installed on my STi all the time, so when i want to stay stable in my seat on the backroads with no posted speed limit, i just lock it down! oh yeah, i also use it for rallycross and track days. it does keep you well-planted, but when you're going through banked turns at over 100mph, you can still get sore sides trying to hole your upper body upright...but it's a lot better than trying to brace yourself against the door with your knees and elbows like i did on my first track day. i can definitely focus more on my driving than holding myself in my seat now. While you all wait for the code to get set up, here's a set of 'instructional' CG Lock photos, apparently taken at my home track Donington.

I would review the vids if she was in them. And I will have to look into getting some of these for my new car.

The promo code "dirtyimpreza" is now working during checkout when you buy a CG Lock. Let me know if you have any problems!

not to be a pain, but Al installed one of those in my car while he had it for a week. It was promptly uninstalled when I got it back. Way too much of a pain to adjust! I hated it!!!!!!!! But that's just me.

It's worth the payoff though if you're doing any serious driving. I take mine off for day-to-day work as you're right, it's annoying to do if you're just running to the hardware store. However, when we have all-day road rallies or are just out for a fun drive, I'll get in and out of the car two dozen times and it's no big deal to just hold the little lever down to adjust it.
